• Are they stable? Yes! Our clear kayaks feature wide, flat bottoms designed for maximum stability—perfect for all skill levels.
• Will I get wet? Likely! You’ll wade into the water to launch (we never drag our gear on sand/rocks). Wear water-friendly clothing.
• Is gear included? Yes. Every rental includes dry bags and CCG-approved PFDs. Please select your PFD sizes during checkout.
• What should I bring? Sunscreen, a hat, water, snacks, and a waterproof phone case.
• Is there a waiver? Yes everyone must sign a waiver and agree to terms and conditions. 
• Where do we meet? We launch from Sutherland Bay Park 612 Ellis St in Kelowna.
• Can I bring my pet? We love animals, but our clear watercraft scratch easily, so pets are not allowed on board.

• Deposit: A $250 credit card hold is required per order (no debit). This is released upon a safe return, minus damages, late fees or excessive cleaning fee.
• Payment: Rental fees are processed at check out.
• Liability: Renters are responsible for damaged gear and personal items. We recommend carrying your own liability insurance.
• Availability: Booking availability is limited and subject to change.

• Weather: Full refunds or rescheduling are only provided for unsafe conditions (high winds, lightning). Light rain or wind does not qualify.
• Early Returns: No refunds or credits for coming back early.

Late Returns

• Fees: $25 for every 15 minutes late.
• 2+ Hours Late: Equipment is considered stolen; you will be charged the full replacement cost.

• Renters: 19+ with ID.
• Minors: Parent must sign waiver and stay on water with them.
• Under 2 yrs (<20 lbs): Not permitted.
• Ages 2–6: Tandem Kayak only (with 2 adults). No SUPs.
• Ages 7–16: Must stay within arm’s reach of an adult.
• Ages 16+: May use Kayak/SUP; adult must be nearby on water.
• Weight Max: Kayak 425 lbs | SUP 240 lbs. (No refund if exceeded).
• Safety: PFDs required. Must be able to swim and self-rescue.
• Limits: Stay within Safe Paddling Boundaries.

We are a fully mobile rental service, meaning we don't operate from a fixed storefront. We are open 9am-7pm 7 days a week. By default, we meet our customers at the Sutherland Bay Park boat launch. We offer custom bookings with a three-hour minimum at $120 ($40 per hour) for clear tandem kayaks and $90 ($30 per hour) for clear paddleboards. Please note that custom bookings cannot be made online and must be arranged by contacting us directly. For those looking to extend their time on the water, any rental lasting longer than three hours automatically receives a discounted rate of $36.25 per hour for kayaks and $28.75 per hour for paddle boards. . Our standard online bookings run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, priced at $145 for our clear tandem kayaks and $115 for our clear paddle boards.

Equipment Use and Care:

Inspection: Authorized Users must inspect equipment for any existing damage and report it to an Okanagan Clear Watercraft Rentals representative immediately. Failure to do so may result in the Authorized User being held responsible for any pre-existing damage not reported.

Handling and Care of Clear Vessels: Authorized Users must exercise extreme care to avoid scraping equipment on rocks, docks, shallow lakebeds, or any abrasive surfaces. Do not drag tandem clear kayaks or clear paddleboards. Always lift and carry them or use designated dollies if available.

Cleanliness: Return the equipment in a reasonably clean condition. Excessive dirt or debris may incur a cleaning fee of $50.

Safety Regulations

• PFDs: Mandatory for everyone at all times. No exceptions.
• Briefing: All users must attend a pre-rental safety and self-rescue briefing.
• Sober Paddling: Operating watercraft while impaired is strictly prohibited.
• Weather: Monitor conditions. If unsafe, head to shore and call 778-760-3773.
• Boundaries: Stay within designated safe zones; avoid boat channels.
• Emergencies: Carry a charged phone. Use whistles and paddles to signal for help. Call 911 for life-threatening emergencies.
• Capsize: Stay with your boat, use your PFD, and head to the nearest shore.
• Sun/Heat: Bring water and sun protection; the clear surface increases sun exposure.
• Incidents: All incidents must be reported and documented upon return.

Prohibited Activities:

Impairment of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs judgment or physical ability.

Subleasing or allowing anyone not listed on the rental agreement to use the equipment.

Using the equipment for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Okanagan Clear Watercraft Rentals.

Modifying or attempting to repair the equipment.

Using the equipment in a reckless, negligent, or abusive manner.

Intentionally capsizing or submerging the equipment.

Paddling in restricted areas, private property, or areas designated as unsafe.

Animals are not permitted on the equipment.

No fishing.

Leave No Trace & Etiquette

• Access & Lakebed: Launch/land at designated points only. Do not trample plants or scrape gear on the lakebed.
• Wildlife & Fishing: Observe wildlife from a distance; do not feed. Fishing and hobby use are strictly prohibited.
• Neighbors: Respect private property and docks. Yield to faster vessels and keep music/noise levels low.
• Waste & Restrooms: "Pack it in, pack it out"—take all trash with you. Use public washrooms on shore before/during your trip.
• Compliance: Failure to follow these rules may result in immediate rental termination without refund or legal fines.
